Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE) is all set to conduct class 10 board exams from February 15 to March 18, 2025. According to The Times of India, approximately 44 lakh students from 8,000 schools in India and abroad will be appearing for the exams this year. The Board officially released admit cards for students on February 3 on their website under Pariksha Sangam. These hall tickets are essential for students to appear for the examination. Without the CBSE hall ticket, no student can write the exam The card contains crucial details like :

  • Student’s name and roll number
  • Father/mother’s details
  • School’s name and code
  • Registration number
  • Photograph
  • Signature
  • Exam centre details
  • Subject-wise exam dates and timings(timetable)
  • Exam day instructions

It is the responsibility of the schools to download the hall tickets for class 10 students, to get them signed by the principal, and to distribute them among the students. Students, in turn, should verify all details on the admit card and report any discrepancies to the board immediately. Printing a copy of the admit card and carrying other necessary documents such as aadhar card throughout the exam schedule is advisable beforehand to avoid last-minute hassle. Students should keep in touch with their respective schools for admit cards and other necessary updates regarding the examination. They can also reach out to the CBSE helpline for assistance. Following are the steps to access the CBSE class 10 Admit Card 2025 :

  • Visit the official website of the Central Board of Secondary Education at cbse.gov.in.
  • Once on the homepage, locate and click on the link to the Pariksha Sangam Portal.
  • After being redirected, click on the ‘Continue’ button to proceed to the next page.
  • On the following page, select the option labeled as  ‘Schools (Ganga)’ to access the school-specific section.
  • Navigate to the ‘Pre-Exam Activities’ tab, where exam-related resources are available.
  • Under this tab, click on the link titled ‘Admit Card, Centre Material for Main Exam 2025’ to open the admit card download section.
  • Enter the required login credentials (such as school code and password) and then click to download the admit cards for your students.

 In the exam hall, students are only permitted to carry their admit cards, transparent writing pads, stationery, mathematical instruments, transparent water bottles, analog watches, metro cards, bus passes, and money. Electronic gadgets, mobile phones, earphones, Bluetooth, microphone, pager, camera, textual material (printed or written), bits of paper, calculator, pen drive, log table (will be provided by centers), electronic pens, scanners, goggles, handbags, pouches(other than transparent ones), any eatable item(opened or packed) except for diabetic students are strictly prohibited. Students with Dyscalculia are permitted to use calculators provided by the exam center.The dress code for candidates attending the CBSE 10th Exam 2025  is as follows:

  • For Regular Students:
    Candidates attending from schools are required to wear their school uniform on the exam day. This helps in easy identification and maintains discipline.
  • For Private Students:
    Private candidates should wear light clothes. It is advisable to choose comfortable attire, as students may need to spend several hours in the examination hall.

 They should also reach the allotted exam center at least 30 minutes before the commencement of the exam which will be conducted in a single shift from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm for the 3-hour duration exams and 10:30 am to 12:30 pm for 2-hour duration exams. As per the latest CBSE exam pattern 2024-25 class 10, 50% of the questions will be competency-based (MCQs, source-based questions, case study-based questions, etc.), 20% of the questions will be MCQs and 30% of the questions will be short/long answer type questions. Last year, the Board decided to increase the number of MCQs and reduce the number of long and short-type questions. This format is going to be followed this year too. Each subject has a different paper pattern and marking scheme. A few subjects have practicals while others have only theory papers Through the revised exam pattern, the board aims to ensure that students focus less on rote learning and more on understanding the concepts. Students are advised to go through the latest exam pattern and marking scheme on the CBSE website for a more detailed understanding. 

The exam for each subject will be worth 100 marks where the theory paper will carry 80 marks and the internal assessments will be of 20 marks. Students must score a minimum of 33% in every subject and overall to qualify for the CBSE board exams. There are a total of 5 compulsory subjects that students have to appear for in the CBSE 10th board exams 2025, these include Mathematics, English, Science, Social Science, and Hindi.CBSE has outlined a detailed list of unfair means under various categories, including cheating, possession of unauthorized items, and involvement in malpractices during the exam. The penalties for these actions are stringent and may include:

  • Cancellation of exams for the current year and the next
  • Debarment from future exams in some cases
  • Immediate disqualification if found indulging in cheating or using unfair means
